There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. So we've put together a brief overview of some of this week's news headlines from local Spanish language publications, and added some upcoming events you won't want to miss.

SEAPAL Invests $5.5 Million to Save Water

With the help of a $5.5 million peso investment, Puerto Vallarta is now on the level of European cities. SEAPAL Vallarta (water/sewage company) recently spent $5,610,850 pesos to acquire the most sophisticated system for the detection of hidden leaks and the recovery of water volume for the benefit of the community as a whole.

Upon receiving the new system, SEAPAL Vallarta General Director Humberto Muñoz Vargas emphasized that even though it was a bit pricey, the investment will pay off. This new system is ranked as the country’s top, and is actually the only one in Mexico of such high technology. This leak detection technology is one of the most sophisticated know to man, it has the ability to detect leaks without the need of breaking through concrete.

Mayor Bravo OK's Pitillal Road Repairs

Puerto Vallarta Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal recently stated that even though there are people who are focused on destroying what his administration has accomplished through hard work and unity, they are still making progress.

If you are a regular Puerto Vallarta visitor, then you've probably been to El Pitillal. If so, you know that even though there are a variety of great sights and shops to visit in the area, the roads aren’t exactly great. Which is why Mayor Bravo has given "the go" on four new pavement projects in the heart of El Pitillal, with a total investment of about $7.5 million pesos.

Coapinole Lagoon Cleanup Project

Puerto Vallarta is a paradise to say the least, with breathtaking sights that you cannot see anywhere else. The Coapinole lagoon is one great example, but unfortunately over the past couple of years the maintenance of the lagoon has not exactly been exemplary. For this reason, Puerto Vallarta Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal has vowed to initiate a lagoon renovation project before the New Year.

Mayor Bravo has done a great job in bringing out Puerto Vallarta’s natural beauty by simply investing in the maintenance of this great city, and this lagoon cleanup is just another stepping stone towards his ultimate goal of making Puerto Vallarta the premier destination in Mexico.
