February 17, 2010

Please join Judith and her newest exhibit on Friday, February 19 beginning at 6 pm at Galeria Uno, Morelos #561 in downtown Puerto Vallarta.

"Painting is what I did when my nanny had something else to do. I have never stopped all of my life. It began as fun for me. All of my paintings are about the perfect place where I go in my head. They are about a world we are destroying and a heaven lost. They are about places that haven't been found yet and are therefore, not perfect. They are always where I want to be."

The above words are from the artist Judith Ewing Morlan, a Vallarta resident for the past twenty years. Judith has been on a painting sabbatical for the past couple of years. She returns with an opening at Galeria Uno on Friday, February 19 beginning at 6 pm with a panorama of her latest work.

As per this very strong woman, we will recognize her style but we will see a difference in the images. She is receiving a well-deserved honor with an "off art walk day" to open her display.

I am certainly no art expert nor art critic. I just know that personally, as one stands before a canvas done by Judith, her "heaven lost" definition most certainly comes through. For the moments taken to absorb the colors and images, there is a sensation of being transported out of the real world to an oasis of serenity. And isn't that something that we all need from time to time?

Please join Judith and her newest exhibit this Friday evening at Galeria Uno, located at Morelos #561 in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
