The opening event of the new season for the Peter Gray Art Museum will take place on November 18 from 5-8 pm on the Museum grounds at Centro Universario de la Costa.
Dear Friends and Patrons of the Peter Gray Art Museum at CUC:

Please save the date of Thursday, November 18 for attending the exciting opening event of the new season for the Peter Gray Art Museum. We'll be hosting an exhibition of the works of 5 International artists from Guadalajara, plus new paintings by our own Meg Munro.

The festivities will be from 5-8 pm on the Museum grounds at Centro Universario de la Costa on the road to Ixtapa, north of the airport. Entrance is free of charge, so plan to bring your friends and family to enjoy not only the visiting artists, but the newest addition to the museum's sculpture garden - a work by Ramiz Barquet La Familia, kindly donated by his widow Nelly in memory of one of PV's most admired and loved artists.

The visiting artists from Guadalajara exhibiting with Meg Munro will be:

Luis Eduardo Gonzalez - Recipient of the "Silver Brush" for artistic excellence, teacher of painting at the University of Guadalajara and the Cultural Institute Cabanas. Ist place winner (among other awards) at El Salon Nacional de Acuarela multiple years.

Ilse T. Hable - Holds a Masters degree in Art from Akademie fuer Angewandte Kunst Vienna. Exhibited extensively in Southern California and has most recently shown her landscape paintings in Guadalajara.

Jorge Monroy - Painting (since first exhibiting at the University of Guadalajara in 1972) in the plein air tradition of teacher de Lara Gallardo. Painted several regional series (including Zacatecas and Puerto Vallarta), most recently 35 "Pueblos Magicos." The entire collection is the property of the Jesus Alvarez del Castillo Foundation.

Cristina Partida - Both watercolorist and print maker with 14 solo exhibits and more than 50 collective exhibitions in Mexico and Europe. Also illustrates for "El Tapatio Cultural" of the Informador newspaper.

Monica Romero - Painter and active as a print maker with works juried into the Iowa Bienal and Lessedra World Art Print Annual.

Meg Munro - Watercolors have been widely collected in Puerto Vallarta and beyond, and has been honored in both the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West (2nd place award) in the U.S.

Don't miss this wonderful event to kick-off the 2010-11 art scene in Puerto Vallarta. If you have any questions, or need directions, please contact Buri Gray at (322) 221-5285, or Elinor Prawer at 221-5032.

Warm regards and a big thanks,
Buri Gray, President
