In a year-end flourish, Puerto Vallarta's Jon Duncanson and Sylvia Gomez won two North American Aegis Awards for marketing and messaging films produced for separate Riviera Nayarit luxury properties.

The awards, for Film and Video Production, highlight work that the PV couple's Aviana Productions produced for the Imanta Resort, located between Punta Mita and Sayulita, as well as the luxury rental property Palmasola, located within the gates of the exclusive Punta Mita resort.

Its the third Aegis Award for Aviana Productions in 2010. Duncanson and Gomez won earlier for a promotional film they made with golfing legend Jack Nicklaus and Punta Mita.

"A huge amount of the credit goes to the properties and property owners," said Duncanson. "Both are spectacular places, and both sets of management teams realize that the cutting edge of communicating the message of their properties is in this show-and-tell-medium. It clearly produces results."

The couple also received Honorable Mention for films produced for Senator Mario Lopez Valdez, who staged a come-from-behind victory in the Sinaloa governor's race, and for a project produced with CNN on Puerto Vallarta environmentalist Oscar Aranda.

Duncanson and Gomez are former U.S. television journalists, who among other career stops anchored news broadcasts in Chicago for ten years. In that capacity the couple won five Emmy Awards, reporting from the wars in Bosnia, the Tsunami in Asia, as well as throughout Mexico and Latin America.

The Aegis Awards are the North American video industry's premier competition for peer recognition of outstanding film and video productions and non-network TV commercials.
