Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Acclaimed Chilean band Gondwana will make a rare appearance in Puerto Vallarta this coming Sunday, May 1, performing an evening concert at Las Palomas, the bullfight arena across from the Maritime Terminal.

While reggae is quickly associated with musical groups that perform in English, the influence of Bob Marley and roots reggae has spread to many parts of the world, including Latin America.

Founded in 1987 during the years of the Pinochet dictatorship, Gondwana is without a doubt the most grounded and popular Spanish-singing reggae band in Latin America, with over 40 million visits to their youTube channel.

Interestingly enough, the charismatic group has not relied on major label representation or distribution to romance its following, until a recent compilation of their greatest hits, re-mastered and released by Sony Music early this year.

Gondwana will perform a single concert on Sunday, May 1st, at Las Palomas arena across from the Maritime Terminal. Doors open to the public at 7 pm. Advanced tickets are $200 and $250, $250 and $300 at the door. Tickets are available for advance purchase at La Batalla in Pitillal, and all Tower Pizza locations in Puerto Vallarta.
