Bucerķas Farmers Market Needs Community Support

May 27, 2011

Open on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, the new Farmers' Market in Bucerķas opened its doors about one month ago.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Bucerķas Bilingual Community Center (BBCC) invites you to come and discover all your favorite producers from the La Cruz and Sayulita Farmers Markets, and, at the same time, support the BBCC, a very worthy charity and superb venue in the heart of a friendly Bucerķas neighborhood.

Open on Saturdays from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, the new Farmers' Market in Bucerķas opened its doors about one month ago. Now, just three weeks after getting started, they are struggling to keep the vendors. There are not enough consumers to warrant the extraordinary effort it takes to make, pack up, transport and display these lovely products for you.

"The low season is upon us, and it is difficult for all commercial endeavors, but there are far more people living here now and I know there are those of you out there who have not yet visited us and would thoroughly enjoy a morning at the Farmers Market."

Judi adds, "I also know that this sure beats a trip to Costco or Walmart where you cannot buy fresh produce nor, more importantly, support Mexican artisans and producers."

Bucerķas is a very special community; it is a place where people support one another and where community counts. So, they are encouraging all who care, and those who just don't know about it, to make a special effort this Saturday to let these vendors know you want the Bucerķas Farmers' Market to continue and that you will do what you can to spread the word and support it.

You are still eating and we are still producing, so let's trade! The BBCC is located just 2 blocks up Matamoros, just off the main highway by Carnes del Mundo and Bajo Cero Ice House. There is plenty of on-street parking and shade.

For more information, email the BBCC at bucerķasbilingualcenter(at)yahoo.com or call them at (329) 298-3527.

The BBCC is working to create a community where people share the joy of developing new skills and learning their neighbor's language and cultural background. Visit BuceriasBilingualCommunityCenter.org for more information.
