June 23, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Teatro Vallarta proudly presents 14 artists on stage with the presentation 'Okinawa Drums,' an event in benefit of the Red Cross in Japan, on Sunday, July 3rd at 12 noon.

Okinawa folkloric dance started out as a kind of religious cult to confront the spirits of the ancestors, but, with the passing of the years it has become a celebration to pray for happiness and peace. In this way, Okinawa drums are travelling all over the world, praying for peace for all humankind.

The rhythms will be accompanied with basic movements taken from Karate, artistically stylized.

Date: Sunday, July 3rd
Place: Teatro Vallarta
Time: 12:00 hrs.

Teatro Vallarta is located in El Centro at Uruguay 184, just south of Ley’s grocery store on the main street as you enter downtown.
