Puerto Vallarta Garden Club Meets June 16

June 11, 2011

The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club will hold its next meeting at the Rivera Cuale condo complex at 11 am on Thursday, June 16, 2011.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The next General Meeting of the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club will be held on Thursday, June 16th at 11 am at the Rivera Cuale condo complex. (Click HERE for directions.) Once you've arrived, ask the guard at the front office to direct you to the meeting room. All interested parties are invited.

The PV Garden Club's mission is to beautify and protect the environment through civic planting projects and educational and horticultural programs for the enjoyment of Puerto Vallarta residents and visitors. The firm belief is that gardens are a powerful tourism generator that can drive new tourist traffic to an area.

Topics of Discussion:

Beautify Puerto Vallarta Project: Planters have been sponsored on Basilio Badillo, though some are still available for $5000 pesos each. Two more planter boxes were sponsored and tiles will be ordered and installed. Also, the smaller boxes in the mercado area on Encino and Augustin Rodriguez are available for sponsorship for 3000 pesos each. The tiles appearing on the latter planter boxes will be smaller. Merchant and patrinado participation is being sought.

There is a lack of garbage receptacles on Basilio Badillo, but a supply of them is at Servicios Publicos off of Francisco Villa. A member will check with the city and see if there is a possibility of obtaining some.

Come listen to our plans, join in and plant or line up sponsors so we can continue in our efforts to make our Puerto Vallarta even more beautiful with plants and flowers. Dues are only $200 pesos per year.

Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is a not-for-profit organization striving to improve and beautify Vallarta through planting trees and flowers in public areas. New members are always invited and donations are welcome. Visit PuertoVallartaGC.org for upcoming events and scheduled meetings.
