Community Theater Debuts with 'Home Front'

November 25, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The North American Theater Company is bringing the critically-acclaimed play "Home Front" to Puerto Vallarta and Paradise Community Center. The New York Post says James Duff's "Home Front" is "a play you will never forget." The New York Daily News says, "'Home Front' is an extraordinary piece of work, a major event of any theater season." Time magazine says "Home Front" is "a play that matters."

"Home Front" is both comedy and tragedy. It is the story of a young Vietnam veteran who returns home to Texas after his service. His middle class family is unable to accept and truly comprehend how the war has changed him. "Home Front" will be brought to life by actors Kyle Faul, Shelby Brennan, and Caroline Crow. San Francisco director David Guilmette is both starring in and directing "Home Front."

This special "Reader's Theater" has two showings this week on Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26 and next week on Thursday and Saturday, December 1 and 3 at the Paradise Community Center. Social hour with grill and bar opens at 7:00 PM each night.

A special "Home Front" dinner prepared by local chef Kathy Overly will be available by reservation for next week's shows. Dinner Theater seating will be at 6:45 PM for $150 pesos which includes reserved seats for the show. Reservations for the Dinner Theater must be made by noon Wednesday, November 31 for the Thursday show or noon, Friday for the Saturday show. Kathy says the menu will be finalized later today.

Because I've watched how hard the cast and crew have worked to make this a special night, I want to encourage you to support our local theater productions. Isn't this a great place to live and visit? Remember that all profits from the community center support local charity work or improves the center.

First Friday Concert: 6 pm Friday, December 2nd with Los Bambinos

Every Tuesday Movie Night: begins Tuesday, December 6th at 6 pm social hour; 7 pm movie
