November 2, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - With the message "When you Help, Wonderful Things Happen" the Puerto Vallarta Local Chapter of the Red Cross began its 2011 fundraising campaign on Monday, October 31, and will continue through November 15, 2011.

According to Fundraising Coordinator, José Luis Ortiz Cartos, this years' goal is to exceed donations from last year, when the Red Cross raised $138,000 pesos. The organization seeks to provide equipment required in their ambulances, such as defibrillators, infusion pumps, and other equipment needed to provide intensive care services.

As in previous years, middle and high schools in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta are participating, including the Conalep, Prepa Jacoba, Cecytej, CBTIS, Middle School 84 and High School 182 as well as the Ministry of National Defense.

Thanks to support from socially responsible citizens, this worthy institution works daily to save lives. Their emergency number is 065.
