Season's First Becas Breakfast Sizzled

November 14, 2011
Vitea Owners/chefs Bernhard Güth and Ulf Henrikkson and staff gave it everything they had to make the season's first Becas Breakfast such a successful and enjoyable event.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Vitea, the charming ocean front bistro, was the scene of warm embraces, happy smiles, scurrying waiters and raffle ticket hawkers for the opening Becas Breakfast of this season. Entrance tickets sold out long before the event (a heads up for the next event at La Palapa on December 14, 2011) and owners/chefs Bernhard Güth and Ulf Henrikkson along with Manager Angel and his super staff gave it everything they had to make this such a successful and enjoyable event!

Ulf devised and served a mouth watering menu of: Orange Juice, Coffee or Tea, Homemade Sweet Rolls, Fresh Fruit with Granola and Cottage Cheese, Crepes of Spinach, Mushrooms and Scrambled Eggs with Hollandaise and Ranchera Sauce OR Chilaquiles with Scrambled Eggs. All were served with Homemade Bread with Salsas and Butter. Each course came promptly at the desired temperature as tables filled.

While the guests were eating and chatting, Becas members Carl Johnson, Cheo Rangel and Aurora de la Torre, under the direction of Terry Wirth, were selling raffle tickets like hot cakes as our guests know that our raffle prizes represent the best of Vallarta.

For the last few years I have been warned by the naysayers that few will donate to our raffles and silent auctions due to the bad economy. But they don’t know Puerto Vallarta! The following caring businesses and individuals donate to us for every event we have throughout the year and always with a smile!

Huge "Thank Yous" to: Andale Restaurant, Archie’s Wok, Boutique Theatre, Café des Artistes, Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Coco’s Kitchen, Coyul, Daiquiri Dick's, Don’t Sweat It!, El Arrayan, Florart, Flowers to Go, Frank McCann Photos, Ingé Lökös, Lalo Morales Articulos Mexicanos, La Palapa Restaurant, Lucy’s Cucú Cabaña, Liverpool, Marcelo Mico Pilates, Marriott Casa Magna, No Way José, Outback Steakhouse, River Café, Teresa Luna Reyes Massages, Vallarta Botanical Gardens and Xocodiva. Eat and buy from these generous folks and tell them that Becas sent you!

Becas Vice President Linda Azcarate made an exciting announcement about our upcoming School Tour on November 30. This is one of our most popular events as our advocates see first hand the schools of Vallarta where our scholarship students study. Most are blown away at the caliber of our schools and come away more than ever devotees of our scholarship program.

This first of the season tour will begin promptly at 9:00 am at the entrance of Molino de Agua on Aquiles Serdan, where we will board an air conditioned bus to Secundaria Tecnica Pesquera (Junior High), followed by UDG Preparatoria Ignacio Jacobo (Senior High) and UNIVA (University).

After the tours, we will lunch at Los Alcatraces in Fluvial. Tickets are limited to 25, are $500 pesos and include lunch. Call or write for your tickets now - phvicars(at)gmail.com, (322) 223-1371 or to any member of Becas.

The outstanding breakfast event ended with happy folks carrying away their prizes from the raffle and silent auction and their tickets to the two upcoming events: the school tour on November 30 and the La Palapa breakfast on December 14. Do you have your tickets?
