December 17, 2011

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - According to a recent article in the Guadalajara Reporter, British pop superstar Elton John will perform in Guadalajara for the first time on February 24, 2012 at the Omnilife Stadium. John has asked that fans wear something white to the concert to signify peace.

An English rock singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and occasional actor, Elton John is one of the most successful recording artists of all time. In his four-decade career John has sold more than 250 million records worldwide.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, and in 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him as the most successful male solo artist on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists" (third overall, behind only The Beatles and Madonna). John is also a champion of LGBT social movements. His Aids Foundation has raised more than 200 million dollars since it establishment in 1992.

Tickets to the Guadalajara concert will range from $450 to $3000 pesos and will be sold at Mr. CD stores and online at SuperBoletos.com. Only 300 of the $3000-peso tickets will be sold. These will allow fans access to the red carpet, a commemorative T-shirt and ID, a CD and a letter of thanks signed by the singer.

Sources say that John will fly in and out of Guadalajara on the day of the concert, accompanied by four assistants and a team of 18 technical staff. A surprise invited guest star is expected to join him on stage at some point of the February 24 show.
