La Peñita de Jaltemba, Nayarit, Mexico - In March, La Peñita de Jaltemba in Nayarit, will host Fiesta 2012 - A Taste of Jaltemba. The event will feature some great food and drink and a range of local musicians and other entertainers.

If you have ever been to a "Taste" event up north, you know how much fun they can be - sampling food from different establishments. If you haven't, this is a great opportunity to try one - Mexican style. Food vendors will offer everything from ribs to arrachera, and tostadas to tortas. Food and drink are extra, of course.

The entertainment will be non-stop, from afternoon until night, and will feature a little bit of everything. Performances will include the Perez Brothers, Manuel and Friends, folkloric dancers from our local school, and a few surprises.

Fiesta 2012 - A Taste of Jaltemba, will be held on Saturday, March 10th, from 3 pm until midnight at the Salon de Eventos - Real de Peña in La Peñita de Jaltemba. Tickets are only $100 pesos per person in advance or $120 pesos at the door on the day of the event. If you have never visited the communities of Jaltemba Bay, this is a great opportunity to see what we have to offer.

Tickets are available at: El Panorama, Hamaca Maya, Hidden Paradise, Los Compadres and Xaltemba Restaurant in La Peñita, and at Latitude 21 and Matejas in Guayabitos.

They will also be available at the Los Amigos booth at the Tianguis every Thursday and from many members of Los Amigos and the La Peñita Citizens Actions Committee.

Fiesta 2012 is an initiative of Los Amigos de Jaltemba, the Citizens Action Committee of La Peñita, and the Municipal Delegation. All of the proceeds will go to support the many initiatives of Los Amigos - our plastics recycling program, scholarships for needy students, construction and maintenance projects at local schools, and, our newest initiative, the creation of a resource center for teachers to help improve the quality of education in our community.
