Now in its third season, the Puerto Vallarta Old Town Farmers Market - Tianguis Cultural is open from 9:30 am to 2 pm every Saturday through the end of May.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Every Saturday from 9:30 am to 2 pm through the end of May, you'll find a wide range of locally grown vegetables, flowers and plants, as well as fresh baked goods, specialty foods and handcrafted items at the Old Town Farmers' Market on the South side of Puerto Vallarta.

Now in its’ third season, the Old Town Farmers Market provides local fresh farm produce, artisan foods, handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, community education and live entertainment to locals and tourists from the entire Bay of Banderas region. Here's a sampling of what you'll find there...

Begona Sandalias are like jewelry for your feet. In fact, Begona started out making bracelets before transitioning to footwear. Her sandals are handmade and embellished with various accents and are available in a variety of colors. She will also customize any style upon request.

One of the more fascinating styles includes a colorful macramé-type weave with ankle straps. In addition to participating here at the Farmers Market, you can find Begona in La Cruz every weekend. You can contact Begona at (322) 297-6392 or via email at begolopezmorales(at)gmail.com.

If you've enjoyed dining at Archie’s Wok, you can now take home some of their delicious Asian and Mexican salsas and moles. Front and center is Sergio Alpenia at Los Sabores de Cristy, offering the wonderful delights created by his wife Cristy. They started participating at the Farmers Market with four varieties and now have fifteen different types.

The best sellers here are those favorites from Archie’s Wok.... a mixture of cilantro, coconut and ginger, and their Thai specialty, which combines cucumber and peanut. They also offer chili flavored oils, which make a perfect gift for friends back home. You can contact Sergio at 322-151-2105 or (322) 223-8355. Email Sergio at sergioalpenia(at)hotmail.com or Cristy at cristinamancha(at)hotmail.com.

Famous for its rib dinners, stop by the booth of El Torito located within the school property for a wonderful meal of their barbecue ribs accompanied by a serving of coleslaw. The ribs are prepared in their special BBQ sauce and ranks as a must-have taste treat in Vallarta.

You can also purchase a bottle of this delicious BBQ sauce to take home. Felix and his family have been operating their restaurant in town since 1981 and it is a popular sports bar as well. You can contact Felix at (322) 222-3784 or check out their website, Torito.com.

More about the market...

The Old Town Farmers Market - Tianguis Cultural has fast become one of Puerto Vallarta's most compelling weekend attractions where you can meet new friends, say hello to old ones, talk directly to the producers, buy great products, support the local economy and take part in activities for the whole family.

Stop by the Market info booth located on the corner of Pino Suarez and B. Badillo and purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a generous basket of products donated by the various vendors. Bring a donation of school supplies and receive a free ticket to the raffle. All proceeds from the raffle go toward projects to help the school.

The Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural is located on Calle Pino Suarez and inside the El Jardin de Ninos Emiliano Zapata, between V. Carranza and B. Badillo. We invite you to visit us every Saturday from November to May between 9:30 am and 2 pm. Plenty of parking is available across the street in the Lazaro Cardenas parkade.
