A special 'Día de La Madre' Vallarta Youth Classical Concert will be performed at our community center and cultural hub, Biblioteca Los Mangos, on Friday, May 11 at 7:00 pm.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Welcome sweet spring in this beautiful month of May! A special 'Día de La Madre' Youth Classical Concert, featuring aspiring young Banderas Bay area musicians - pianists, guitarists, mandolin players and singers - will be performed at our community center and cultural hub, Biblioteca Los Mangos, on Friday, May 11 at 7:00 pm.

This annual concert is now in its 10th year with the aim of encouraging the practice of 'classical' music among our young Vallartenses, who will once again perform for the public at large. It's open to every young musician around Banderas Bay, from Puerto Vallarta as well as from the Riviera Nayarit.

What better way to celebrate Mothers' Day than with music lovingly performed by our musical boys and girls for their mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers?

Indeed, with an ever growing interest and awareness of the communicative, even transformative, effects of music and its education in our local community, this spring youth classical concert promises to be attended not only by proud supportive parents, families and friends, but also by a great number of music lovers and supporters of music education.

Notably, during the recent World Economic Forum on Latin America held here in Puerto Vallarta, business and world leaders - the promoters of international dialogue and understanding - chose 'Music' as a main theme of their first session, and explored such aspects as "Music being the only true international language, bridging political and cultural gaps," among others.

This May 11 Concert will feature students not only from the Biblioteca's piano and singing workshops, but again from private piano and guitar studios, the Sindicato de Filharmonicos, and new this term, soloists from the Orquestra Escuela, with piano, guitar, cello and voice covering works from baroque to contemporary.

The icing on this Mother's Day celebration concert cake will be a solo guitar performance by one of the teachers presenting students for this concert, a beautiful talented young Cuban concert performer, Maestra Irisley Luis Gomez ...absolutely breathtaking!

So come and celebrate with us this most delightful and unique Concert and be mesmerized at how wonderful these young talents are – a true joy to behold every time!
