October 25, 2012

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Our city is receiving a promotional boost throughout the rest of Mexico, the United States, and Canada resulting from a visit by four US Olympic swim team medalists as well as the Canadian Chapter of the American Society of Travel Writers Convention.

Ignacio Cadena Beraud, president of the Puerto Vallarta Hotels and Motels Association, said that the Olympic medalist’s visit has large scale promotional value for our alluring destination.

Dana Vollmer, Matt Grevers, Rebecca Soni, and Ricky Berens have arrived in Puerto Vallarta for a four day stay and the four athletes are using their personal social networks to promote the activities and attractions around our region.

The invitation to the four medalists was extended by the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, as part of a proposal generated in the last session of the Hotels and Motels Association.

Cadena Beraud reiterated that, given the caliber of the athletes, they will generate large amounts of world media coverage; which in turn will highlight the natural beauty of our destination, our great weather, the warmth of the our people, and the amazing biodiversity of the Banderas Bay region.

The visit by the athletes was made possible by the support of Frank Bush, Director of the United States National Swim Team.
