Peter Gray Art Museum to Host 'A Celebration of Art'

January 24, 2013

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Peter Gray Museum, a celebration of the contribution local artists make to the Puerto Vallarta cultural scene will be held on Friday, February 8th

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the museum by Peter Gray on the campus of Centro Universitario de la Costa, a celebration of the contribution local artists make to the Puerto Vallarta cultural scene will be held on Friday, February 8th.

This exciting and colorful event will be held at the museum from 1 pm to 4 pm, with light refreshments served. All artwork will remain on exhibit until March 23rd, so if you can't make it to the opening, plan to visit the museum at a later date.

Participating artists are those who have previously been represented in the museum's permanent collection. Each artist will exhibit their new work next to their earlier work that's been on display over the past 10 years. Most of the 25 invited artists will be in attendance to answer your questions and to explain how their styles and techniques may have evolved over time. Both painters and sculptors will be represented.

The Museo de Arte Peter Gray is located on the Centro Universitario de la Costa campus just a few miles north of the airport. If driving, proceed north on Highway 200 to the major intersection just past Home Depot, turning right at the sign pointing to "Ixtapa." Proceed on this highway for about one mile remaining alert for a sign on the right at a traffic signal directing you to "CUC." After entering the main gate, park in the lot on the right. The walk to the museum is a short 200 yards along the beautiful main campus walkway shaded by ficus trees.

We hope to see you on February 8th - members and non-members alike, residents and tourists. Entry to the museum and the exhibition is free of charge.
