go to original
January 2, 2013

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Painter Ramón Barragán Villaseñor recently received a poignant recognition for his career as a painter and muralist, who has been an important influence on Puerto Vallarta's art scene for over 50 years.

The tribute, organized by the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta, was attended by Sergio Zepeda from the Arts and Culture Board and close friend of the honoree.

Reporter Martha Ramirez presented a short history of the painter's life, saying that Ramón Barragán Villaseñor has led a major role in putting Puerto Vallarta on the map of the art world.

Over the years, Ramón Barragán Villaseñor has had a record number of exhibits in Mexico City, the first being in 1952 at the Paradise Hotel. Today, he continues to paint, and is currently working on a mural for the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
