Puerto Vallarta Garden Club January News and Events

January 7, 2012

The long-anticipated 2013 Bougainvillea Festival has been officially announced by the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club, and is scheduled to take place May 17 through 24, 2013.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Are you missing working in the garden and getting your hands dirty? The PV Garden Club (PVGC) would love to have you come and add your energy to our efforts to beautify Puerto Vallarta.

The PVGC will be meeting on Wednesday, January 9th at 10 am on the outside veranda of the International Friendship Club, located at Edificio Parian del Puente #13 at the corner of Libertad and Miramar in downtown Puerto Vallarta. We will be weeding, pruning and training bougainvillea vines to grow up the poles, primarily in the Mercado area. Bring a black plastic garbage bag, pruners and gardening gloves.

The PV Garden Club monthly meeting will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 17th at the Paradise Community Center, 127 Pulpito, Zona Romantica. The PV Garden Club is responsible for having added all of the planters along Basillo Badillo, Insurgentes and the Mercado. We would love to have you come and join us for our monthly meeting. Kimberley Bennett will be our guest speaker; her topic is "Balcony Plantings in Puerto Vallarta."

The PV Garden Club's mission is to beautify and protect the environment through civic planting projects and education and horticultural programs in Puerto Vallarta for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors. In fact, they are currently in the process of planning the first annual Puerto Vallarta Bougainvillea Festival, scheduled to take place May 17 through 24, 2013.

If you are interested in making Puerto Vallarta more beautiful, tourist friendly, and increasingly prosperous, please visit the PVGC website, VallartaGardenClub.com, for more information and meeting times. New members are welcome and needed.
