Old Town Farmers' Market Food Court's New Home

February 8, 2013
Located on Pino Suárez and along Basilio Badillo, Puerto Vallarta's Old Town Farmers Market is open from 9:30 am to 2 pm every Saturday from the first Saturday in November until the last Saturday of May.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Old Town Farmers' Market has been a Saturday morning favorite for four seasons. Their "bake it, make it, grow it" philosophy has won the hearts - and taste buds - of residents and tourists alike.

And while this "producer only" market showcases organic produce, flowers, artisan foods, jewelry, accessories, fine arts and crafts, it's the International Food Court that has left visitors satiated. Whether it's Thai, Austrian, Indian, American or traditional Mexican fare, the Old Town Farmers' Market Food Court features exotic flavors from new and established vendors living in and around Puerto Vallarta.

Because of its popularity, the Food Court has moved to a centralized location. For the rest of the season, you can find tempting aromas and mouth watering delights inside Nacho Daddy Restaurant & Bar on Basilio Badillo.

"When we were asked to host the Food Court, we thought 'absolutely'," says Sean Moore, owner of Nacho Daddy. His restaurant has been a friend of the market since both businesses came to the area four years ago.

"Before we started having markets on Saturday morning, it was so quiet on the street," explains Sean. "Now, things have changed. I'd bet we had 5,000 people walk down the sidewalk today, which can't be bad for business. It's a win-win for everyone."

And the Food Court vendors couldn't agree more.

"[It's a] great new venue," says Kyle Quast of Carne del Mundo in Bucerias. "They've done a great job, and our customers enjoy being back here on the street."

Even though it was an early morning in the new venue, Market customers were not deterred. They were lined up before 9:30 am in hopes of ordering their favorite foods. Some products were sold out by noon.

Whether you're in the mood for your favorite treat or are ready to discover something new, head on over to the International Food Court for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Grab a bite, order a drink, meet up with friends, or make new ones. You will find plenty of seating along with music, rest rooms, and a laid back atmosphere. What a great way to refresh yourself before heading out to discover more treasures brought to you from over 90 Market Vendors.

Make the Old Town Farmers' Market your Saturday morning tradition.

The Old Town Farmers Market-Tianguis Cultural is located on Pino Suárez Street and along Basilio Badillo between Olas Altas and Ignacio Vallarta in the Zona Romantica. We invite you to visit us every Saturday from November to May between 9:30 am and 2 pm. Plenty of parking is available across the street in the Lazaro Cardenas parkade.
