Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus Gala Premier White Party

March 19, 2013

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus is pleased to announce its Gala Premier White Party. This is our first Auction fundraiser, and we hope to make it an annual event. Coco and Vanessa of Coco's Kitchen will be hosting the party, and they're pulling out all the stops! They are planning an amazing Four Course Meal plus appetizers and wine with dinner.

The date is Saturday, March 23rd, and the event starts at 6:30 pm with a silent auction. White attire is suggested for a truly gala evening.

The men's chorus will regale the audience with a short concert, and we'll have some special guests, including Gene Burkard, the composer of Puerto Vallarta Olé, one of the musical pieces the chorus will be singing.

The Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus is less than a year old, and was founded by Joyce Ericson and Bob Bruneau. The mission of the chorus is to make beautiful music, and to help build bridges of understanding between cultures here in Puerto Vallarta. We are the first gay chorus ever in Mexico. Our chorus is made up of gay and straight men, both Mexican Nationals and Ex-Pats.

The chorus is truly thrilled with the response and support the community in Puerto Vallarta has given them. Their first big Holiday concert in Teatro Vallarta, "Alegria," filled the theater with its biggest audience to date. We are grateful for that.

However, the cost of running a chorus, paying rent for rehearsal space, accompanist fees, music training, purchase and duplication of music creates an ongoing cost for the group, and although "Alegria" paid the bills, both for the entire fall season and the costs to mount this ambitious concert, we need fundraising to sustain the mission of the chorus. Concert sales alone rarely support any musical or theatrical arts organization.

Make sure to save the date on your calendars. This is going to be one of the truly great parties of the year. Tickets, which are $1000 pesos, are available at Coco's Kitchen, Flowers To Go, and at the Saturday Market at the Paradise Community Center. With your support, Puerto Vallarta will continue to have an amazing arts organization, The Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus!

Coco's Kitchen is located at Pulpito #122 on the South side of Puerto Vallarta.
