LGBT Retirement: Put your Pink Pesos in Puerto Vallarta

May 17, 2013

Tere Campbell and the professional team of realtors at Prudential California Realty Vallarta Division have always understood that the LGBT community is a driving force in Vallarta's real estate market.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Prudential Real Estate was one of the first major companies to recognize the importance of the gay and lesbian community in the real estate market and recently invested in a massive research study, entitled The LGBT Financial Experience 2012-2013, to further identify LGBT unique needs.

But in Puerto Vallarta, Tere Campbell, who has been heading the Prudential California Realty Vallarta Division since 2003, has always understood that the LGBT community is a driving force in the real estate landscape of Banderas Bay.

Gary Gates, a demographer with the UCLA Law School's Williams Institute, a think tank dedicated to sexual orientation and gender-related law and public policy, theorizes that "baby boomers were the first generation to really have a visible LGBT community, and of course, they're starting to retire now," and for many, Puerto Vallarta is the perfect place to invest their pink pesos with an eye towards future resort-style retirement living.

"[Vallarta's] open mind, cosmopolitan atmosphere, young vibe, good energy, diversity, affordability, natural beauty, safety [and] good food, make PV the greatest of destinations," says Tere Campbell about why Vallarta is such an attractive destination for the vacation or retirement LGBT investor.

Prudential's research study concluded that while the LGBT community has a median household income of $61,500 compared with $50,000 for the average American household, they are concerned about not outliving their money and maintaining lifestyle in retirement. Now savvy LGBT investors are turning to Puerto Vallarta to couple fabulous lifestyle with a much lower cost of living and affordable housing costs.

"It's never been a better time to invest!" says Campbell of Prudential Vallarta, "With the adjustments in the market, the improvements in infrastructure and the varied choice of real estate options, it's great time to invest in the bay!"

Contact Tere Campbell with Prudential Vallarta for more information about why investing in Puerto Vallarta is such an attractive option for LGBT buyers, or visit prurealtypv.com for listings of some of the beautiful homes available around the Banderas Bay area.
