The Mexico Report Awards '2013 Real Heroes of Mexico'

September 9, 2013

The Mexico Report 'Real Heroes of Mexico' project's purpose is to recognize the goodwill efforts made by everyday people and to share the positive and inspirational stories that are part of everyday life in Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On August 31, The MEXICO Report announced the winners of their '2013 Real Heroes of Mexico' project, which recognizes everyday people who are making a difference in Mexican communities by doing everything from battling bad press and spreading goodwill, to delivering babies, rescuing animals, and performing extraordinary acts of kindness.

The Real Heroes of Mexico project was created in 2012 by Susie Albin-Najera, the creator and editor of The MEXICO Report, an internationally recognized blog showcasing all the positive, inspirational stories taking place in Mexico everyday.

The purpose of the 'Real Heroes of Mexico' project is to recognize the true champions of Mexico, the unsung heroes in the community and those celebrating Mexican culture through their goodwill efforts, bravery, inspirational stories, sacrifices and hard work.

With a team of nine Ambassadors who helped nominate the heroes along with the general public, the book showcases 30 profiles of those making a difference in Mexico, and is now available to preview free online or for purchase in print version.

"The nominees this year were phenomenal again and their stories never cease to amaze," said creator of the project, Susie Albin-Najera. "It's truly rewarding to be able to bring these stories to life and this project allows for others to learn about and celebrate their outstanding efforts and the work they are doing. These are the real heroes and champions of Mexico."

The nominations came in from throughout Mexico including Baja California, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Merida, San Cristobal de las Casas and everywhere in between. Nominations also came in from the U.S., Canada and London, connecting countries and communities alike.

One of the "Real Heroes" selected for recognition this year is our very own Denise Derameé, the Editor and Publisher of Puerto Vallarta's Liveliest Website!, who works diligently to counter the U.S. media's sensationalist and damaging reporting on Mexico and to promote Mexico's key tourism areas as not only safe, but safer than many other popular vacation destinations.

Everyone here at BanderasNews.com humbly recognizes and congratulates all of this year's Real Heroes of Mexico! Click HERE to view the complete list of 2013 Real Heroes of Mexico.
