Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, otherwise known as a relatively sleepy fishing village, is recognized regionally as having a lively music scene, especially this time of year. But local organizer (and La Cruz booster/promoter/wunderkind) Jason Foster Barnes has taken this dynamic up a notch and, in association with the Asociación Restaurantera de Riviera Nayarit, has put together a week-long celebration, called Festival Savor & Musik.

The festival begins on Monday, December 9th with a Kick-off celebration at the glorieta (roundabout @ Calle Coral and Av. Langosta) at 7:00 pm. Starting at 8:00 pm, four different groups will perform at four different La Cruz restaurants.

On Tuesday and running through Saturday, four different restaurants will feature two bands each with 7:00 and 8:00 pm sets. Participating restaurants are: Black Forest, Casa Hule, Enrique's, Frascati, Gecko Rojo, Jardin Del Pulpo, Masala, Oso's Oyster Bar & Seafood Market Restaurant, Philo's and Sandzibar. Sunday will be a day-long music fest in the central Plaza in La Cruz starting at 2:00 pm, with different music acts every 45 minutes.

This is a fantastic way to not only hear some new music, but also to visit a restaurant that you may not have previously experienced. It's a win-win for the town, the restaurants, and everyone who loves music!
