Banderas Bay Women's Shelter Needs Doors & Windows

December 10, 2013

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Looking for an end of the year tax deduction? Consider buying a window, or a door, or finishing off a room in the Banderas Bay Women's Shelter.

During the first quarter of 2014, we'll be looking at installing the exterior doors and windows in the Banderas Bay Women's Shelter. The total cost will be about $8,000 US dollars. Not a bad price for 37 windows and 3 doors! The average cost of a window is $200. The doors will run about $400 each.

If you're so inclined to cover the cost of finishing a bedroom, the total cost would be only $1,500. The cost of finishing a bathroom is only $1,300. Finishing a room includes door(s), window(s), tile floor, paint, and in the case of the bathroom it also includes shower, toilet, and sink.

All donations made to Compassion for the Family/Vida Reavivida Inc., the not-for-profit constructing the shelter, are tax deductible for US citizens. I apologize to our Canadian friends, but we are still in the application process to be able to provide tax deductible receipts to Canadian citizens.

One hundred percent of the donations that we receive go toward the construction of the shelter. Compassion for the Family/Vida Reavivida Inc has no paid employees and the board of directors serve on a strictly volunteer basis.
