SETAC Ensures CAPASITS' Christmas Posada a Success

December 24, 2013
SETAC and the CAPASITS clinic held their annual Christmas Posada for children whose families have been affected by HIV/AIDs. Thanks to the your generosity, around 200 kids recieved a toy from Santa this year

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - On December 17th, SETAC once again sponsored a very special Christmas Posada for the children whose families have been affected by the HIV/AIDs pandemic. The fiesta was held at the CAPASITS clinic, and around 200 children showed up in anticipation of Santa coming down from the North Pole to bring them a present.

Although the clinic was festively decorated, when the children arrived the first thing that caught the eye of most of them was the massive brincolin which was set up for them to jump on. "Mario the Clown" was also there regaling the kids with his silly antics, tricks, and cool balloon animals.

While the kids were being entertained the adults prepared the feast. There was an abundance of incredible food, huge "tres leches" cakes, and plenty of aqua de jamaica to chase it down with.

After the feast, the merriment resumed. The kids sang songs, played games for special prizes, and beat up on the 12 candy filled pinatas while waiting for the "Big Guy" to make his appearance.

Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for - Santa arrived. The kids were in awe of ol' St. Nick and it showed in their eyes as he mingled among them. And, thanks to SETAC's marvelously successful toy drive, he had plenty of toys for all the girls and boys.

When it was time for Santa Claus to get back to his workshop, all of the children were steered towards the lobby, where they were given fruit and a "bolo" of candy to mark the end of the party.

We at SETAC would like to thank everyone who participated in the event. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all those who donated toys and candy, donated their time, the businesses who let us put the donation boxes in their establishments, as well as the businesses who held special events for the drive. Some of these children would not have had a Christmas without this event, and none of it would have been possible without your kind contributions.

The staff at the CAPASITS clinic acted as servers and Santa's helpers for the event. These are probably the most dedicated care givers anyone could ever have the pleasure to be associated with. When you walk into the clinic you can feel the warmth and the love that is given so freely by these wonderful people.

A Merry Christmas to you all, and a very Happy New Year! from all of us here at SETAC.
