Live Entertainment on the Paradise Stage This Weekend

January 30, 2014

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - If you are looking for live entertainment in Puerto Vallarta, the Paradise Community Center has got you covered. A long weekend of incredible entertainment starts up tonight on the Paradise Stage!

Two weeks ago Luna Rumba opened with one of our funnest concerts ever! They brought a busload of fans with them and ended their concert with people dancing all over Paradise. You don't want to miss their award winning songwriting and music presentation.

We have a new review of the Banderas Bay Jazz Allstars that you can read below. We are so blessed to share our stage in Paradise with these world class bands this week.

Saturday's Bedazzled Broadway continues to be a hit with audiences and the word is spreading. Each week more people attend this professional performance than the week before. If you like Broadway show tunes, this is your chance to hear many of your favorites right here in Paradise. These people can sing!

Thursday, 8 pm, Luna Rumba

Luna Rumba thrills audiences with their sonic tapestry of Latin Pop, Spanish Flamenco, Arabic and East Indian melodies, Cuban rhythms, Celtic riffs and even Latin Jazz. Their shows are a celebration of musical fusion, human diversity, creativity, warmth and virtuosity. Fiery violins and rumba-flamenco guitar ride on top of the unstoppable polyrhythmic grooves created by the exotic percussion instruments and drums. If this weren't enough, be prepared to hear vocals that will melt your heart and warm your soul.

Friday, 8 pm, Banderas Bay Jazz Allstars

The Banderas Bay Jazz Allstars return on Friday continuing their live recording. They have been working on some new material, mixing it up a bit this season - although they include some of the old favorites that people have come to associate with the band. Come be a part of it!

Here's a review from last week:

"We went to the Paradise Community Center, in downtown Puerto Vallarta, to hear the Banderas Bay Allstars. Everyone in the band is a virtuoso in their own right. Bryan Savage, on flute and saxophone, blows the sweetest melodies and burning improvisational solos. Chaz Eller, on keyboards, maintains a solid foundation over which everyone weaves a musical spell. He plays driving solos and soulful melodies through a collection of piano, synthesizer and Hammond organ sounds. Steve York's bass playing has unique qualities as he sings his solos with heart and soul; both melodic and metered, he's a rock. Lazaro Poey, on drums, well, it's hard to put words down to describe what he does. Perhaps one of the greatest groove masters of all time, he has you moving in your seat in ways you've never moved before! Complex rhythms pour through timing changes and dynamics that will blow your mind and keep your head engaged. Together they create a force that takes you on a joyous musical romp. Don't miss them!" - Dave Ganapoler.

Saturday, 8 pm, Bedazzled Broadway

On Saturday, February 1st, don't miss Bedazzled Broadway! The stellar cast is back after a successful early season run in November. Gary Beck says, "BeDazzled Broadway is a new musical revue not to be missed!"

Saturday nights through February 15th, we celebrate fifty years of Broadway's best with Bedazzled Broadway! Featuring a professional cast of favorite Puerto Vallarta entertainers, this dazzling production showcases the best loved numbers from Broadway hits like Les Miserable, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Beauty & Beast, and South Pacific. This is a great show!

The stellar cast of actors/singers have played to rave reviews in many Vallarta shows. Credits include: Kathy Overly - Mama Mia and This Thing Called Love; Gaye and Todd Ringness - Dolly Would If Kenny Could; Sharon Baughman-White and David White - Moments to Remember and This Thing Called Love; and Elvis Martinez - recently featured at the Christmas Concert for the Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus.

Program highlights include award winning classics like: "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" - Evita; "With One Look" - Sunset Blvd; "I'm Not That Girl " - Wicked; "Music of the Night" - Phantom of the Opera; "Stars" - Les Miserable; and Oscar winning "I Dreamed a Dream" - Les Miserable.

Produced and directed by Sharon Baughman-White, Bedazzled Broadway vibrates with a fast pace, unique audio visual effects, creative staging, and colorful costumes. As a member of The Sound of Music's original Austrian cast, Sharon leads a special 50 year anniversary tribute.

The gates open at 6:30 pm with the Food Court and Paradise Cantina open to the public. Come early for the best selection of food items. We'll have roasted chicken dinners and among our vendors is Cesar from Asaderos. He'll be serving up some of his incredible ribs.

The Paradise Cantina serves up a variety of beverages. Everything from the crowd-favorite Paradise Margarita, wine and a fine selection of beer, standard cocktails, and soft drinks - all at very reasonable prices. Please come and join us!

For Paradise Stage shows, general admission under the second palapa is only $200 pesos. VIP stage-front seating including two free drinks is also available. New this year is reserved seating in larger, more comfortable arm chairs under the main palapa including 1 free drink.
