La Paz, BCS, Mexico - In 2012, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) announced a new program. It would be called 'Country Spotlight.' The first year was Spotlight Mexico 2013. (2014 is Australia and 2015 will be Canada) All during the year, events, newsletters, and social media would promote Mexico as a safe place to visit and invest.

One major event was an international tourism symposium staged in June. The site for that was San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur. Attendees from all across Mexico, Canada, the United States and Brazil heard an outstanding array of speakers and enjoyed networking-themed social activities.

Mexico was also high profile at the 2013 NAR Conference in San Francisco. Mexico had a record forty real estate agents in attendance, and its Expo booth was a popular place for international realtors to stop and ask questions about investment opportunities in Mexico.

Linda Neil, NAR Presidential Liaison to Mexico, moderated a 'Making Money with Mexico' panel. She also taught a class to a group about the Accredited Buyer's Representative program. Towards the end of the quarter, Linda presented a shortened version of "Mexico A to Z" to Global Councils in Reno and Las Vegas.

A great vote of thanks goes out to NAR Global Marketing and Communications Manager, Cynthia Fauth, and the NAR Global team. As part of the "Spotlight" program, NAR distributed regular updates via the NAR Weekly Newsletter, The Global View blog, and social media channels (NAR Global Facebook, @narglobal Twitter). They also dedicated a portion of their website to relevant news and articles.

NAR has more than 1 million members. In addition. NAR has business partnerships with over 60 countries. Realtors in Mexico are confident that the Spotlight Mexico program will help provide impetus to the market recovery that started in 2013, and NAR is committed to continuing to promote Mexico as a safe place to visit and invest.
