Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - If you're still suffering from holidays hangover, brace yourself: Puerto Vallarta's Mardi Gras Parade is back, and it's bigger.

This year's Carnaval celebration kicks off Tuesday, March 4th at 9:00 pm. The glittery, bead-hurling parade begins at Parque Hidalgo and travels south along the Malecón through 'Old Town' and Olas Altas.

Students of Alas Escuela de Canto, have been named Grand Marshals of the 2014 Mardi Gras festivities. These rising stars, under the direction of Kharla Barragan, have recently performed at Puerto Vallarta's The Voice at ACT II, PVMC's concert at Teatro Vallarta and Concierto de Amor.

Over 10,000 spectators are expected to view the parade to commemorate, celebrate, and communicate the universal message of diversity, equality, and infinite love.

To enter a float, a marching group, or an individual entry, visit CarnavalVallarta.com. Andale Restaurant/Andales on the Bay, Cafe Mordida, PVRPV.com, The Dog House, INTERCAM, Bar Frida, Casa Cupula, ACT II, Nacho Daddy, The Palm Cabaret, Casa Isabel, The Red Room Cabaret, Gay Guide Vallarta, Paco's Ranch and Reinas Bar all signed up just minutes after the registration opened earlier this week. Several dozen more entries are expected to sign-up this week for a mere $200 peso entry fee.

The Parade runs on the generosity and passion of volunteers. There are plenty of volunteer roles available, and we'll even reward you for your talent and time with a limited edition parade shirt and the satisfaction that you are involved in one of the Bay's largest community events. Be one of the stars that make it all happen by signing up at volunteersignup.org/FXJPM.
