April 18, 2014

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. Here's a look at some of this week's Puerto Vallarta news headlines and community announcements, plus a couple of upcoming local events that you won't want to miss.

Praise for Vallarta Nayarit Rebranding

During the recent Gala Vallarta Nayarit 2014 trade show, the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau polled wholesalers for their opinion of the Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit joint promotion. Six months after the Mexico Tourism Board rebranded Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit as "Vallarta Nayarit" in its marketing campaign, it appears that the strategy is playing well among domestic and North American wholesalers. They agreed that the joint effort spearheaded by the Mexico Tourism Board is a strategy that is boosting their sales and simplifying their workloads. According to Apple Vacations' West Coast product manager, Sue Zacharias, "The support given to travel agents, along with the training and information provided as well as the fam trips, is definitely working." VivaAerobus Increases Flights to Puerto Vallarta

Mexico's low-cost airline, VivaAerobus, began its second route to Puerto Vallarta on April 11, 2014, this time with four weekly flights from Mexico City.
