2014 Vallarta Pride Will Shine Bright with Stars

May 9, 2014

Diva Divine is just one of the stars on the exciting roster of famous Mexican celebrities who will put an international spotlight on the 2014 Vallarta Pride festival, which is scheduled to take place May 22-26.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Vallarta Pride 2014 is pleased to announce the participation of an exciting roster of famous Mexican stars during the Pride festival. Known internationally and nationally, these talents will host events, perform, grace the parade, and be available during the park party for photo opportunities and autographs.

The parade Grand Marshall will be Alejandra Bogue, well known in the national community as performing in Las Hermanas Vampiro before starting on the TV show Válvula de Escape on Telehit. She later went on to play the characters of "La Tesorito," "Tearruina Fernández," and "Sonia Infame" on the hit television show Desde Gayola on Televisa until 2006. Later in 2006, she joined the program Guau and in 2008 she starred and produced the ¡Qué Show con Alejandra Bogue! sitcom on Telehit. In 2010, Bogue was chosen to be part of the Mexican stage version of the film Todo Sobre Mi Madre by Pedro Almodóvar, which was a box office hit at the Teatro Insurgentes in Mexico City. Currently she has her own show on Telehit. Alejandra is being hosted by Casa Cupula, the exclusive luxury hotel located in the foothills of the Zona Romantica. She will host and perform at the Friday night kick off party at Casa Cupula, as well as her duties as the Grand Marshall of the Pride Parade and emcee for the ACT II Entertainment Party in the Park stage production, where she will be available for photo opportunities, autographs and interviews.

If that weren't enough, Supermana, the Transgender super hero, will also be in attendance for Vallarta Pride 2014. Supermana is well known for her appearances on the Nocturninos and Farandula 40 television programs. Supermana will be appearing this year as "María Félix," another popular character from Farandula 40. She will also participate in the parade and attend the Party in the Park for photo opportunities, interviews & autographs.

To continue with the star studded line up, the Mexican movie star Charly Díaz will be joining us for Vallarta Pride. Charly is known worldwide for his performances in adult entertainment films.

Charly enjoys working with the international company TitanMen and also appearing on hit shows including Guau on Telehit, Miembros Al Aire on Televisa, Nocturninos on MVS Radio and the Fortuna Dichi sexology show. Charly will ride in the parade, be at the Party in the Park for photos and autographs and be performing at Wet Dreams later in the evening.

We will also be joined by the drag king show "Boi Job," a hilarious gender-bending drag king duo from Vancouver, Canada. Kid Warhol and Parke N' Ride have been performing on stage for over 3 years in Vancouver and across North America. They will performing at the Pink & Proud women's event, as well as appearing in the parade.

This year we are luckily to have three of Vallarta's own legendary personalities: Edgar Treviño from Paco's Ranch, Diva Divine, and Carla Fifi.

Edgar Treviño is known internationally and nationally for his work as the emcee at Paco's Ranch. He has also appeared in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Argentina, Chile, Cuba and this year he will be releasing his first disc of original recordings. For the last 6 years he has been a principal organizer for the march against homophobia in Puerto Vallarta. The Steering Committee of Vallarta Pride is pleased to have Edgar emcee the opening party at Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 at 8:00pm. The Committee hopes to have Edgar wow the crowd with a famous performance or two.

Our very own 2013 Pride Queen, Diva Divine will emcee the dance portion of Party in the Park and will be the emcee at the closing party at Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill on Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at 5:30pm. Diva has always loved Vallarta. It is her home and she has always been involved with fund raisers and events that benefit the community. She started her career in 1998 doing private shows until she got her break at Balcones. Many remember her as part of the "Dirty Bitches Show" at the Blue Chairs Hotel. She has preformed all over Mexico: Guadalajara, Morelia, Aguascalientes, Distrito Federal, Los Cabos, Monterrey, Sinaloa, and Colima to name a few. She has participated in Gay Pride in D.F., Amsterdam, and Toronto. She has been a Vallarta worldwide ambassador traveling to Toronto, Vancouver, Switzerland and parts of the Netherlands. She is always spreading the charm and good will that she and Vallarta are famous for. The committee is very proud to have Diva as our reigning queen. She is involved in Drag Race Vallarta which is a contest aimed at finding the next Queen of Pride. Currently, the show is Saturday night at 8:00 pm at the Blue Chairs Hotel.

Carla Fifi returns again this year to share the stage as the emcee of the dance portion of Party in the Park on Saturday, May 24th, 2014. Since she is a Fashionista herself, she will once again emcee the fashion show at the Blue Chairs Hotel on Sunday, May 25 at 5:30 pm. As most of you know, Fifi started in Puerto Vallarta as part of the second Latin Fever circuit Party. She went on to work as the host of the stage show at Club Mañana and also to be involved with the "Dirty Bitches Show" at the Blue Chairs. The past three years she has hosted the Miss Pitillal Contest and has been involved with SETAC's "Duckaton" fundraiser since its inception.

The Committee just got news that Brent Corrigan is coming on his own to Vallarta Pride. With 10,000 likes on his Facebook post, he is certainly getting the word out there about what an amazing time Vallarta at is any time of year - but especially for the Pride festival. Who knows where he might pop up!
