Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - We’re just days away from a classic rock festival like nothing seen before in this region.

With the majestic Banderas Bay as the backdrop, the "Vallarta-Nayarit Classic Rock Festival" will take place from December 11-14, 2014. This three day show will feature some of the music industries top vintage heavyweights - complete with "all-world" staging. The event promises to be an iconic affair for our area.

Confirmed bands include the rock artists BoDeans, the blues rock band The Fabulous Thunderbirds, rockabilly gods Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats, country rockers Poco, Pure Prairie League, and Firefall, plus superstars of classic rock such as Jefferson Starship, Kansas, Cheap Trick, Foghat, and Spencer Davis Group.

There will also be performances by several iconic solo artists including: Dave Mason - Traffic; Gary Wright - best known for his hit Dreamweaver; Craig Fuller - lead vocalist for Little Feat and Little River Band; Steve Augeri - eight year "post Steve Perry" Journey vocalist; Micky Dolenz - drummer and vocalist for The Monkees; Mark Farner - lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Grand Funk; plus blues legend Sam Moore - Sam and Dave.

All of these incredible solo artists will be accompanied by various members of the festival's "All Star House Band" which includes such luminaries as: Jeffrey 'Skunk' Baxter - ex lead guitar for the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan; eponymous guitar legend and seven year Fleetwood Mac member Billy Burnette; Elliot Easton - The Cars guitarist; Kenny Lee Lewis - bass player for the Steve Miller Band; Kenny Gradney bass for Little Feat; Curly Smith - Boston drummer; Kenny Aronoff - drummer for John Fogerty and John Mellencamp; and Teddy ‘Zig Zag’ Andreadis - who has played piano with Guns 'n Roses and Carole King.

In addition to backing soloists, the House Band will play songs from their own catalogs.

Fans can expect three days of some of the greatest musicians of an era. If you like roots rock, blues, soft rock, or hard rock, you’ll have a blast!" said John Zaring, event creator and founder.

You can expect:

• Three days of performances by classic rock acts hosted by Hollywood stars and legendary American radio DJs from the classic rock era.

• An intimate ocean-side setting before just 5000 fans, complete with all-world staging.

• A display of the "Art of Rock," along with the photographers and artists who chronicled a generation of music.

• A rock legend will be honored with the "Giant of Rock" award at a VIP jam party.

• An official welcome party for the bands, as well as the "Fairways to Heaven" rock star golf tournament.

• After parties at Bar Xtine, La Santa, and Bar Morelos after each concert day is done.

• The festival will help local children! Ten percent of all ticket revenues and 100 percent of money raised via the "Fairways to Heaven" golf outing will benefit area children through the "Integral Family Development System" (DIF,) a children’s services charity.
