Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Day of the Dead is really a celebration of life. It is a time when children dance with caricatures of death, eat sugar skulls, build alters at grave sites and learn to respect that life is brief and not to fear death. People should learn to enjoy and appreciate every moment.

Celebrating The Day of the Dead has been a Mexican tradition for almost 3000 years. The Day of the Dead is typically celebrated between October 31st to November 2nd. The American tradition is now also combined with the event on October 31st, Halloween or All Hallow's Eve. November 1st is Dia de los Innnocentes, the day of the children, called All Saint's Day and November 2nd is All Soul's Day or the Day of the Dead.

This is a time for friends and family to gather and celebrate their departed loved ones, and one aspect of this is great food. At Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Executive Chef Ignacio Uribe, Chef de Cuisine Hugo Mejia and Sous Chef Rogelio Garcia have created an impressive menu containing many traditional Mexican foods for this party. Dinner is served from 5 to 11 pm and this special a la carte dinner menu runs October 26 to November 2, 2015.
