Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Tickets are now on sale for the annual "Evening Under the Stars" fund raiser to be held November 28th with 100% of the proceeds going to the SPCA de PV. Guests will gather in the stunning, newly remodeled boutique hotel, Casa Kimberly, the former home of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

Fittingly, the evening will begin with a brief unveiling ceremony of a beautiful bronze statue of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton sculpted by Jim Demetro, and a stunning portrait of Elizabeth Taylor by Bill White.

Entertainment will be provided by the La Joya de Mexico Mariachi. There will be a number of items available as part of a silent auction, as well as items auctioned off by the renowned auctioneer, Robert Burkheimer.

This event, one of the most popular every season, is not to be missed. Tickets are $120 USD or $1950 pesos, and seating is limited, so get yours today by contacting Janice Chatterton at Janice(at)HaciendaSanAngel.com.

About the SPCA de PV

The mission of SPCA de PV is to help fund and promote sterilization, adoption and health care efforts for companion animals in the Puerto Vallarta area, with the goal of eliminating the euthanasia of healthy and adoptable animals. In January 2012 they opened a sanctuary on the outskirts of town. It is a no-kill shelter and can house up to 130 animals at once. The people at the shelter are devoted to the animal's physical and emotional rehabilitation and everyone is invite to come out and interact with the animals.

Tour the Facilities

If you live, or are planning to vacation in Puerto Vallarta this winter, weekly tours to the SPCA de PV sanctuary will commence November 3rd. Tours will be each Tuesday and Thursday leaving from the Costco parking lot at noon. Please note that reservations are required and space is limited. To make a reservation, email spcapv(at)gmail.com. To see the animals available for adoption, visit the SPCA de PV Facebook page.

Make a Donation

The shelter is not supported by the government, so donations are always needed. To make donations via PayPal, select the "Donate" option on their Facebook page or on the SPCA de PV website. Monies received will be applied where the need is greatest.

If you would like to make an in-kind donation to the SPCA, items that are always needed include: hard rubber chew toys and balls; stuffed toys for puppies; BLUE BAG Costco dog food salmon flavor ONLY; all natural dog treats; towels, blankets, Lysol, powdered laundry detergent; office supplies such as paper, pens, clip boards, scissors, plastic cups for staff and volunteers. These can be dropped off at Hacienda San Angel, located at Calle Miramar 336, above Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
