Democrats Abroad Present Mexican Immigration Forum

With country committees and local chapters in over 80 countries around the world, Democrats Abroad is the official Democratic Party organization for the millions of Americans living outside the United States.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - On Tuesday, February 9, the Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad in Mexico will present a panel of experts to speak on immigration topics specifically of interest to Americans living in Mexico.

Join this panel starting at 2:00 pm in The Red Room at the ACT II Stages Entertainment complex on the corner of Basilio Badillo and Insurgentes in Colonia Emiliano Zapata, Old Town, Puerto Vallarta.

Comprised of experts in their fields, the panel consists of:

Lic. Felix Zarate; Immigration Attorney, Bahía de Banderas
Felix graduated at the top of his class from Law School in Tepic, Nayarit. He has been practicing Law for over 26 years. He is an active member of the Puerto Vallarta Lawyers Association. His career started with the District Attorney's office in Nayarit. Currently his Law Practice covers the entire Bay of Banderas. He has a vast knowledge base in Real Estate, Immigration & Civil Law. When Felix is not in the court house you might find him perusing his passion tennis on the tennis court.

Daniel Grippo; Mexico-US Relations Lecturer
Dan Grippo first visited Mexico in 1980. He earned an M.A. in Latin American Studies and a Ph.D. in Latin American history from the University of Kansas while working as an Editor in Kansas City, MO. During his winters in PV, he offers lectures on Latin American history.

This esteemed panel will present on the following topics:
1. Tourist Visas
2. Working Permits for Foreigners
3. Temporary Resident Cards and Permanent Residency Cards
4. Foreign Vehicle Legalization
5. Current state of U.S. immigration law, executive actions and new legislation


"We continually canvass our membership to identify topics that are hot-button issues of interest," shares DAM-Costa Banderas President Tobe Jensen. "With the recent changes in Mexican visa categories, we guarantee this afternoon will be a lively discussion."

Democrats Abroad Mexico is the official organization of the Democratic Party in Mexico connecting Americans with U.S. politics and the Democratic Party; registering, informing, and motivating voters; supporting candidates, holding events, and raising resources. Mexico has five chapters: Lake Chapala, Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Costa Banderas, Mazatlan and Baja North.
