Puerto Vallarta Garden Club Meeting at Di Vino Dante

March 14, 2016

The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club is a multicultural organization, and we welcome involvement from the people who have the most to gain: local, part-time and year-round residents of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Puerto Vallarta Garden Club March meeting will once again be at Di Vino Dante Wine & Tapas Bar on Basilio Badillo on March 17th at 5 pm. The guest speaker will be Mike Laking, the artist and photographer whose beautiful orchid image was chosen for our Fiesta Blanca gala.

Mike is a digital photographer who specializes in flowers. Using computer graphic techniques and his original photographs, he creates unique digital giclee photo art.

His works have been featured in numerous exhibits and galleries, have won several national and international awards, and are included in collections across Canada, the United States, Europe and Mexico.

Laking was the grand prize winner of 2010 Vallarta Botanical Gardens Photography Contest and third prize winner of the 2011 event. He says of his work with flowers; "the delicate, fleeting bursts of colors, shapes, and sizes are what I drive to catch, so that when the flower is gone, the art remains." It should be a very enjoyable presentation.

P.V. Garden Club - "Beautifying Vallarta" is supporting not only a more beautiful, clean and verdant city, but making it more attractive to tourism, thus creating a vibrant economy to support all the other great causes in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

The Vallarta Garden Club is registered as a non-profit organization in Mexico. Annual dues are only $500 pesos and are used to support the club's ongoing efforts to make Vallarta a more beautiful place.
