Highlight Events of Vallarta Pride 2016 Confirmed

March 8, 2016

The Vallarta Pride organizing committee is happy to announce that the Grand Marshal for Vallarta Pride 2016 will be Idan Matalon and the star of the Party in the Park will be Myriam Montemayor!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Vallarta Pride organizing committee has confirmed the dates for the highlight events of the fourth edition of the pride festival for the city's LGBTTIQ community, which is scheduled to take place from May 16th to 30th, 2016.

During the sixteen day festival, a series of events have been planned under the slogan "We Are One Family" that include: art & culture, film, gastronomy, tea dances on the beach, reading, health fair, exhibition, marches through the city and, for the first time, legal marriage between same sex persons in Puerto Vallarta. As the date approaches, the Organizing Committee will reveal the names of national and international VIP guests who will lead the festivities.

Undoubtedly, one of the events that has the most drawing power is the International March Against Homophobia, which this year will be held on May 17th. The parade will begin at 6:00 pm on Avenida Francisco Medina Asencio, in front of the Hotel Sheraton Buganvilias, and wind its way through the streets of Vallarta to the Los Arcos amphitheater on the Malecón.

One of the most entertaining annual events is the Pulpito Drag Derby, where drag queens race up and down Pilitas & Púlpito streets in the Olas Altas area. Scheduled to be held on May 26th at 7:00 pm, this event has a social cause, since it serves to raise funds to help the Amapas Neighborhood Association to improve the quality of life in Colonia Amapas.

On May 27th, at 8:00 pm, Hot & Sexy Party will take place at Casa Cupula, where the coronation of the 2016 Vallarta Pride Ambassador will be held. Members of the Organizing Committee will be present and there will be live shows and much more.

As its name implies, the Women's Party is a unique and exclusive space for women during Vallarta Pride. For the third consecutive year, it will be hosted by Pink & Proud, presenting live entertainment, DJ, domestic bar and other surprises. Although the location is yet to be confirmed, it will begin at 9:00 pm on Friday, May 27th.

For the first time, the Organizing Committee welcomes you to The Circuit Party, scheduled for Friday May 27th with hours from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Puerto de Luna Hotel. There will be DJ, domestic & international bar and many surprises for all attendees.

And as it has already become a tradition, at 5:00 pm on May 28th the Gay Pride Parade will start from the Hotel Sheraton Buganvilias going towards El Malecón, to finally arrive around 6:00 pm at Lázaro Cardenas Park. Everything will be ready for this park to be the meeting point of the largest celebration of this year's Vallarta Pride party, including a stage for live shows, exhibition stands, a food & beverage area, live DJ and loads of fun.
