2016 Fiestas de Mayo de La Parroquia de La Santa Cruz

Come join in the festivities during the Fiestas De Mayo being held outside of Parroquia de la Santa Cruz, Calle Aguacate and Lazaro Cardenas, Colonia Emiliano Zapata from April 23 until May 3, 2016.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - If you would like to experience a true Mexican tradition in Old Town Puerto Vallarta, then come join in all the festivities during the Fiestas De Mayo being held outside of Parroquia de la Santa Cruz, Calle Aguacate and Lazaro Cardenas, Colonia Emiliano Zapata from Saturday, April 23 until Friday, May 3, 2016.

You will enjoy everything from a parade, a variety of food booths serving local cuisine, booths featuring games of chance to challenge you, rides for the children, raffles, contests and excellent nightly entertainment featuring different International Folkloric Dancers from many areas as well as clowns and numerous singers and the presentation of new talent.

Food and activities commence after 5 pm, and here's the entertainment schedule:

Saturday, April 23rd

6:00 pm: Motorcade Procession announcing the commencement of Fiestas de Mayo presented by the Church of Santa Cruz. Informational flyers detailing the program and prizes will be handed out.

Sunday, April 24th

7:00 pm: Ceremonial Presentation of the children's fire torch in the church

7:30-8:30 pm: Catholic Mass

9:00-9:30 pm: Catholic Mass; Mexican food exhibition will take place outside of the church

Monday, April 25th

8:30 pm: Inauguration Parade commencing at Lazaro Cardenas Park in Zona Romántica featuring the Folkloric dancers and terminating in front of the church

8:30-9:00 pm: Opening Ceremony - Father Roberto Gradilla of the Church of Santa Cruz will give the blessing, followed by a welcome speech from the Junta Vecinal Colonia Emiliano Zapata board and the municipality.

9:00-10:30 pm: Performance by the Vallarta Azteca Youth Folkloric Group

Thursday, April 26th

8:15-9:00 pm: Tango Vallarta will perform a Sensual and Elegant Tango

9:00 to 10:30 pm: Performance by the Vallarta Azteca Youth Folkloric Group

Wednesday, April 27th

8:15-9:00 pm - Performance by Singing Duo "Contrapunto Duo Vallartense"

9:00-10:00 pm - Dance Performance by Vallarta's XIUTLA Folkloric Ballet under the tutelage of Prof. Enrique Barrios

Thursday, April 28th

8:00-9:00 pm: Let's Dance! Official presentation of the Municipal Band and the "Danzón y Chachachá en tu Colonia" program

9:00-10:00 pm: Performance by the Tabasco Folkloric Group

Friday April 29th

8:15-9:00 pm: Performance by Armando Silva & Son (Singers)

9:00-10:00 pm: Cotzal de Coahuila Folkloric Ballet Performance

Saturday, April 30th
Children's Day Celebration

5:00-7:00 pm: Karaoke and Music for Children

7:00-7:30 pm: Piñata Contest: Popcorn & game tickets given to participating children

8:15-9:00 pm: "Geton" the clown; Raffle prizes and awards will be presented

9:30-10:30 pm: Grupo Folklorico Andanzas de Cecytec Aguascalientes performance

Sunday, May 1st

8:30-9:15 pm: Performance by Bolivian Wayna Folkloric Group

9:00-10:00 pm: El Salvador Folkloric Group Association performance

Monday, May 2nd

8:15-9:00 pm: Santiago De Chile Puente Alto Folkloric Group

9:15-10:30 pm: Bogotá Atradanza Folkloric Group

11:00 pm: Beto Franco Aztec Folkloric Group

11:30 pm: "Las Mananitas" (Mexican Birthday song) sung to the Church of Santa Cruz

Tuesday, May 3rd
Día de la Santa Cruz

10:30 am: Construction workers pilgrimage and blessing of adorned construction crosses

5:00 pm: Confirmation Services

6:15 pm: Magna parish pilgrimage of apostolic movements and parishioners with our blessed and traditional image of Santa Cruz. Participating areas of Nogalito, Mismaloya & Boca de Tomatlán

7:30 pm: Mass performed on the street outside the Church of Santa Cruz

8:45-9:00 pm: Official Torch Reception

9:15-10:30 pm: Performance by the University of Guanajuato Folkloric Group

11:00 pm: Lighting of the Castillo and Fireworks display

11:30 pm: Closing Ceremonies and Music for dancing
