Dionisio Theater Group Presents 'La Ley del Ranchero'

August 19, 2016

Dionisio Theater Group's award-winning Spanish-launguage play takes the Main Stage at Puerto Vallarta's largest entertainment venue, Act II STAGES, every Friday and Saturday night in August at 8:00 pm.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Dionisio Theater Group is celebrating its fourth season this month by presenting the Spanish-language play, La Ley del Ranchero. This is the first play that allowed the group to participate in the Jalisco Theatre Festival, where the production won the Best Costume and Best Supporting Actor (Cesar Trujillo in the role of "La Gorda") awards.

Written by playwright Hugo Salcedo, 'La Ley del Ranchero' tells the story of three couples who are in a gay bar in a northern Mexico town. Linked by a murder, the three stories revolve around issues of love, passion, misunderstandings, sex changes and abuse.

Directed by Juan Carlos Ramirez (Desperate Princesses) and starring César Bravo (Equus), Samantha Dueñas (Equus), César Trujillo, Omar Lucián, Juan Pablo Hernández (The Voice of Vallarta), Edgar Sánchez (The Voice of Vallarta), Alejandro Lamas (Suddenly Sondheim), among others, 'La Ley' addresses serious issues with lighthearted witticism.

La Ley del Ranchero is currently playing on Friday and Saturday nights of August at 8 pm on the Main Stage of the Act II Entertainment complex. Tickets cost $150 pesos for preferred seating and $100 pesos for general admission. Tickets to all shows can be purchased at the Act II box office, which opens on show days at 6:00 pm.

August 19th Show to Benefit SETAC

As is tradition for the Dionisio Theatre Group, the profits from one performance will be donated to a local charity. This year, proceeds from the August 19th show will be given to the SETAC community center, which is dedicated to HIV education, detection, prevention and medical services in Puerto Vallarta and the greater Banderas Bay area.

The Journey of Dionisio Theatre Group
