Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - If you are an English-speaking expat in Puerto Vallarta, come to ArtVallARTa every Tuesday at 10:30 am to Connect with Mexico! This series of weekly conversations is a fun way to learn about Mexican art, culture, and the stories behind the doings and sayings of the Mexican people.

Connect with Mexico - Mexico explained, in plain English.

• Learn about Mexican culture, geography, history, literature, art, government and its many peoples.

• Gain a greater appreciation of the stories behind the doings and sayings of Mexicans.

• Interact more and better with those Mexicans with whom you come in contact.

Join us every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12 noon at ArtVallARTa, 213 Calle Pilitas, next to the San Franciscan Resort and close to the corner with Olas Altas on the south side of Puerto Vallarta.

Conversation Topics include:

Mexican Scandals - Tuesday, January 17
From politics to social media to show business there's plenty of gossip and scandal in Mexican society. Join us to discover the governors who "took it all" amid corruption scandals. How can a music producer lead a prostitution ring? And discover why kingpins have such good friends in high places.

Mexican Muralism - Tuesday, January 24
What better way to tell Mexico's story than with beautiful paintings on its many public buildings? Find out who commissioned these huge works of art, why they're so relevant to the country, and why even the Rockefellers were in love with them.

"La Chingada y El Chingón" - Tuesday, January 31
The word "chingar" defines what it is to be Mexican. Come get some answers about this funny word you hear from Mexicans of all social classes. Where did it come from? How is it used? What should you feel if the dreaded word reaches your ears?

We hope to see you soon in our Connect with Mexico dialogues. There's no doubt we can all learn something, enjoy each other's company, and together gain new insights on how to enjoy Mexico even more. The cost is $20 USD or $350 MXN per person per session, and includes all materials for the conversations and some refreshments.
