Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Murphy's Irish Pub on the Malecón is hosting two St. Patrick's Day warm-up events to help raise money for Puerto Vallarta charitable causes.

The first one is the 'Vallarta Celtfest,' a live music celebration set to be held on the Malecón, across from Murphy's and next to El Faro, on Saturday, March 11 from 3-6 pm.

Vallarta Celtfest line-up of entertainment:

3:00 pm - Daniel Oliveros Trio (traditional Celtic instruments)
4:00 pm - Dave Whitty (traditional Irish and Newfoundland Pub Songs)
5:00 pm - La Trez Cuartoz (Celtic rock band)
6:00 pm to 2:00 am - The celebration continues in Murphy's Pub

Celtic food specialties will be available throughout the celebration, including Corned beef & Cabbage, Guinness Stew, Fish & Chips and more.

Then, on Wednesday, March 15, Murphy's is again the place for traditional music and food, as they host a Pre-St. Patrick's Day Benefit Party from 12-4 pm.

Cost is only $250 pesos, which is good for a full menu of holiday offerings, including: corned beef & cabbage, Guinness stew, fish & chips, mashed potatoes, garden salad and dessert. It also includes two domestic beers or two well drinks, or bottled water or house wine. A free bottle of vanilla also goes to each customer.

Live traditional music will be performed by Dave Whitty who joins us all the way from St. John's Newfoundland! There will also be a Donation Raffle & 50-50 Drawing from 2-4 pm.

Proceeds from these events will benefit the Playground in Vista Hermosa through the American Legion, the Navy League, the Jay Sadler Project and DIF Vallarta. The Navy League of Vallarta and INTERCAM Banco are participating sponsors.
