Curator's Tour of Vallarta 'Dichotomies of Landscape'

August 21, 2017

Make plans now to be a part of the last curator-led walkthrough of You Are Here: Dichotomies of Landscape on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:30 pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - La Oficina de Proyectos Culturales invites everyone to join them on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:30 pm for the last walk-through of the You Are Here: Dichotomies of Landscape exhibition with curator Oscar Moran Guillen.

The OPC's second installment of the "You Are Here" series curated by Oscar Morán Guillén, "Dichotomies of Landscape" continues the dialogue about urbanism and landscape that began with last year's "Urban Approximations" exhibition.

Urban Approximations questioned the vagaries of various urban-architectural aspects in the city while paving the way for reflection on the continuously changing urban space of Puerto Vallarta, seeking to expand beyond the stereotypical narratives of tourism.

Dichotomies of Landscape attempts to delve into the complex relationship around the transformation of Puerto Vallarta's landscape and with that, the transformation of the social relations that are established between the people living in the city.

The multi-disciplinary exhibition, which includes work by 17 architects, urban planners, and artists who produced site-specific works, aims to foster a conversation around the concept of landscape heritage, its relevance in Puerto Vallarta both in the collective imaginary and in the sense of community, and its impact on the quality of life. The talk will be in both English and Spanish.

Make plans now to be a part of the last curator-led walkthrough of You Are Here: Dichotomies of Landscape on Wednesday, August 23 at 6:30 pm. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Located at Juarez #598 at the corner of Aldama in downtown Puerto Vallarta, The Office for Cultural Projects (OPC) in an independent, non-profit organization, dedicated to foster contemporary art through exhibitions, round table conversations, public art initiatives, and educational service programs. It was born with the desire to contribute to the reflection on the contemporary socio-cultural and artistic environment, with the purpose of sharing with the inhabitants and visitors of Puerto Vallarta. OPC works with different creators such as artists, architects, curators, academics and writers who contribute to the construction of our notion of city and contribute to the cultural landscape linked to Puerto Vallarta but of global reach.
