Lo de Marcos, Nayarit, Mexico - Returning for its fourth season, the Tianguis Lo de Marcos will reopen its doors on November 4th, and you are invited to stop by and check it out! Set to be held every Saturday from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm through March 31st, this weekly market expects to continue its growth and history of drawing visitors from around the Bay of Banderas.

The tradition of buying and selling in temporary markets set up on a regular basis is a strong feature in much of Mexican culture and has a history that extends far back into the pre-Hispanic period. It was the most important form of commerce in the pre-Hispanic era, and after the Spanish Conquest, the Europeans mostly kept this tradition intact. For more on the history of Tianguis, click HERE.

Keeping with tradition, Tianguis Lo De Marcos is set in a lovely courtyard that offers a comfortable outdoor shopping and socializing experience with great food, live music and many unique vendors.

Starting in November, you will be able to buy such items as homemade baked goods, custom made piñatas, hand blown glass, clothing, unique artisan items, garden fresh produce, freshly baked delicacies, salsas, jewelry and more, all in one place - Lo De Marcos, a beautiful little coastal town on the Riviera Nayarit, just north of Puerto Vallarta.

The Tianguis is more than shopping; it is a total community experience. Friends gather in the food court and catch up in the aisles. Each week brings new visitors and new vendors so there is always someone or something new to see!

"This Season we will see the addition of more live music performances and we are hoping to add a little more international flair to the Food Court this year," said Armando Contreras of Galvan Real Estate and Services, the event's organizer. "Additionally we plan to bring in visiting Artisans from other parts of Mexico, which will be a great treat," he stated.

"Tianguis Lo de Marcos instills a sense of pride to our community and we are proud to see people from all over the municipality come and visit every weekend. We are excited to see it return for the fall-winter seasons," stated Alonso Bravo, the Delegado of Lo De Marcos.
