Galleria & Di Vino Dante Ready for 2017/2018 Season

November 20, 2017

The South Side Shuffle kicks off its 8th season on November 24, 2017, and will be held every other Friday from 6 to 10 pm through March 23, 2018. For more information visit SouthSideShuffleBB on Facebook.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Basilio Badillo may have seen a lot of changes over the last 29 years, but it's always been known as one of Vallarta's best shopping areas. And it just keeps getting better! Starting Friday, November 24th, the beautiful bougainvillea-lined street in the heart of Old Town will welcome the return of the South Side Shuffle!

Now in its eighth year, the South Side Shuffle transforms the always bustling street into a sensory delight. Every other Friday from 6 to 10 pm, you will find friends, neighbors and musicians while wandering up and down Basilio Badillo and stopping in to visit the 20 participating businesses that offer refreshments and a festive shopping environment.

One of the most popular stops along the way is Claire and Joe Guarniere's Galleria Dante. Featuring artwork by more than 50 artists, ranging from museum quality masterpieces to works created by emerging Mexican artists, Galleria Dante is the largest and most eclectic art gallery in Puerto Vallarta.

For the first South Side Shuffle of the 2017-2018 season, Galleria Dante will be showcasing new works by Canadian artist Marc Galipeau.

This is Marc's 4th year at Galleria Dante. Largely influenced by artists such as Claude Théberge, Paul Tex Lecor and Claude Bonneau, among others, Marc Galipeau's work is instantly recognizable by the soft, dreamlike atmospheres he is able to weave into his acrylic paintings. His characters, often appearing as if out of a dream, are done in true colors rendered in shimmering tones. His style could be said to have a folk art quality but the depth and the work that goes into its execution put him in a style all his own.

Always with the goal to go further and to perfect his art, Marc explores a new way to express its uniqueness and creativity. He now embarks on the path of abstraction. A road hard reflecting his state of mind at any time and bringing to the surface emotions that he had forgotten for a long time. Dozens of canvases and tubes of color pass through his fingers until he is satisfied with his work. After more than 7 years of artistic research, his approach is constant evolution, which led him to introduce his current work. Cleaner and freer, he feels he has conquered new pictorial experiences. A serious and headstrong artist, Marc Galipeau's career is on a rising curve and shows no sign of slowing down.

Don't miss your chance to meet this talented artist and enjoy complimentary cocktails at Galleria Dante during the 1st South Side Shuffle of the 2017-2018 season on Friday, November 24 from 6-10 pm.

While you are there, be sure to check out Di Vino Dante, a chic wine and tapas bar overlooking the gallery's sculpture garden. In late June, Di Vino Dante opened a small dining area on the ground floor in a corner of Galleria Dante, for those who like to people watch.

Open Mon-Fri from 10 am-5 pm, Galeria Dante is located at Basilio Badillo #269 in Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. For more information, call (322) 222-2477, or send an email to info(at)galleriadante.com. To see some of the art work on display at Galleria Dante, visit GalleriaDante.com.
