La Cuiza to Host River of Arte 2017, December 10

November 24, 2017

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Art lovers save the date. You don't want to miss Puerto Vallarta's #1 art event - River of Arte 2017 - to be held Sunday, December 10 from 12-5 pm at La Cuiza on La Isla Cuale, next to Restaurante Oscars at the base of the stairs below the Ignacio Vallarta bridge.

Sixty of Puerto Vallarta's most talented artists will be exhibiting their latest work, and donating 20 percent of proceeds from event sales to LADRA Dog Rescue and Adoption; DIVAC Handicap Services of Vallarta; and the Ballet Folclórico Infantil Del Jorullo.

The wide range of media includes watercolors, oils, mixed media, acrylic, charcoal and more. Styles range from native portraits, landscape and folk to collage and contemporary. The largest gathering of artists in one place, River of Art draws enthusiastic crowds every year.

Guests at River of Arte 2017 can expect to enjoy not only an elegant afternoon of art, but also local entertainment highlighting Mexican culture and a silent auction of great gifts donated by Puerto Vallarta's most generous local merchants.

Event sponsor Casa Karma Boutique Resort has donated for silent auction a week's luxury accommodations at the intimate world-renowned cliffside resort, south of Conchas Chinas.

The large original painting used in this year's promotional poster was done by local artist phenomenon QUETZAL Cocoatl. He has graciously donated the painting to be silent auctioned to raise even more funds for the events's beneficiaries.

Entertainers include:

• Brittany Kingery, a tropical folk rock singer and recording sensation of Puerto Vallarta Act II fame who just returned from her North American performance season;

• Ballet Folclórico Infantil del Jorullo, a traditional local dance troupe.

Admission is FREE. For more information, visit the River of Arte 2017 Facebook page. Anyone interested in volunteering, or donating to River of Arte 2017 should contact Carolina Archer at doggonegoodcarolina(at)yahoo.com.
