Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico has announced its events calendar for November 2017. All of this month's events will be held at The Jazz Foundation in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
The fun starts at 7:00 pm on November 14th with the first movie in Democrats Abroad Weekly Film Series, 'A Man Called Ove,' a Swedish comedy-drama which was released in December 2015. The film tells the story of Ove, the quintessential angry old man next door. An isolated retiree with strict principles and a short fuse, who spends his days enforcing block association rules that only he cares about, and visiting his wife's grave, Ove has given up on life. After a boisterous young family moves in next door and accidentally flattens Ove's mailbox, an unlikely friendship forms.
Next up is the Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas Monthly Social on November 21st at 5:30 pm, followed by the second film, 'Seed: The Untold Story' at 7:00 pm.
On November 28th, the weekly film series will feature 'A United Kingdom,' a 2016 British biographical romantic drama film directed by Amma Asante, based on the true-life romance between Sir Seretse Khama and his wife Ruth Williams Khama.
Advance tickets to the movie screenings can be purchased after 6:00 pm daily at the Jazz Foundation for a donation of 60 pesos. On screening days, tickets can be purchased at the door for 70 pesos. Please come early (doors open at 6 pm) and enjoy fantastic food and drinks before the film starts.
