February News from the Entreamigos Community Center

February 2, 2018

All Entreamigos projects and programs, including the library, scholarships, community events and construction projects, are supported by private donations. Entreamigos is a 501(c)3 non profit organization.

San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico - Entreamigos began in 2006 on a kitchen table in the middle of a San Pancho street. Today, housed in a giant warehouse recognized as a model sustainable facility, it is an active community center with classes and workshops, a scholarship program, a bilingual library for children and adults, a computer center, an extensive recycling program, a gift store and the Recicla thrift shop.

Here's the latest news from Entreamigos:

Our Scholarship Program has Six New Graduates!

At Entreamigos we believe in the power of a united and engaged community to bring education to all children, to care for our rivers, oceans and streams and to leave a legacy of empowered and inspired families that are prepared to lead the San Pancho of today into tomorrow. We are honored to announce the graduation of our 2017 University Scholarship students that include Ramón, Diana, José Luis, Anahí, Isis and Carmen. Families, friends, donors and the community recently gathered at Entreamigos to celebrate this accomplishment. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to these kid's bright and inspiring futures!

Trash & Recycling Bins in San Pancho

Every year, 360 days a year, EA staff collect, repair and replace the more than 110 recycling bins that we have located throughout the community. We do our best to promote responsible actions in public waste but we must all work together to continue this work. Please, deposit clean plastic, cardboard and glass in the collection baskets. The increase of visitors and residents is straining our resources for collection but we are doing our best. We hope everyone understands that recycling is not the answer, it's just a "meanwhile" technique until everyone understands that reducing plastic consumption is the only way to stop pollution and climate change.

2018 Gala Dinner & Fundraiser

Make plans now to be a part of this extraordinary fundraising event that helps cover the costs of running the Entreamigos library and their many programs that provide opportunities to kids and families in San Pancho through education and creativity, environmental awareness and activities, and love and commitment to the community.

Entreamigos primary focus is to increase educational opportunities for the children of San Pancho in Nayarit Mexico. To achieve these goals Entreamigos runs an art collective non-profit store, a library, a computer center and a collection of educational and community based workshops and initiatives. Entreamigos is entirely funded by donations and almost completely run by volunteers. To learn more about our programs and activities please visit entreamigos.org.mx.
