San Pancho, Nayarit - The 2018 Entreamigos Environmental Fair, "Econexion," is set to take place on Friday, March 2 from 9 am to 7 pm in San Francisco, Nayarit. This entertaining and educational event seeks to raise environmental awareness through games, dynamics and workshops. In addition, it seeks to show successful models of sustainable practices that help meet the challenges of today.

The event will be held at the Plaza del Sol, located between Cuba and Mexico streets, where most of the activities will take place, but others will be held at the Entreamigos Educational Community Center, located at Avenida Tercer Mundo No. 12.

In the morning there will be guided visits to the community center for different schools in the nearby towns of Riviera Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta. After which they will head over to the Plaza del Sol, where they will be divided into groups to participate in the different activities.

In the afternoon, there will be a carnival parade down the main avenue with costumes made of recycled and reused materials, previously made in art classes and interventions in primary schools in the community. Upon arrival to the Plaza del Sol, the Environmental Fair will be inaugurated and all attendees will be free to visit its attractions at their leisure.

Environmental games are the heart of the fair. They were built with recycled materials and each game has a reflection: renewable energies, conformation and importance of ecosystems, the need for garbage separation, and the correct interaction between cultures and nature, among others.

The productive workshops at Entreamigos will have their representation. Small work tables will be assembled for glass, sewing and screen printing workshops, and the participants of the community center's entrepreneurial programs will explain what they do, inviting the attendees to participate in the process.
