Lorena Herrera to Lead 2018 Vallarta Pride Parade

March 9, 2018

One of the first celebrities to confirm Vallarta Pride 2018 participation is Mexican actress and singer Lorena Herrera who, in addition to being the Grand Marshal of the parade, will perform a free concert on May 25.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Under the theme "100 Reasons to Celebrate," Vallarta Pride will take place from May 20 to 27 in Puerto Vallarta, where it will celebrate the vibrant Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transgender, Intersexual and Queer (LGBTTIQ) community through a series of cultural activities, concerts, parties, parades and lots of fun.

One of the first celebrities to confirm their participation in Vallarta Pride 2018, set for May 20-27, is the famous Mexican actress and singer Lorena Herrera who, in addition to being the Grand Marshal of the Pride parade, will also be the star of a free concert at Teatro Vallarta on Friday, May 25th at 9:30 pm. Prior to the concert, a few lucky people will have the opportunity to accompany Lorena Herrera and other special guests for a VIP Cocktail to be held at Mangos Beach Club at 8:00 pm.

Lorena Herrera began her career as a model, participating in beauty contests such as "The Look Of The Year", "Miss Bikini International" and "Miss Univision." She has been featured in a total of 56 films, including Cocaína, El Arrecife de los Alacranes, La Fichera más Rápida del Oeste and Traición; and telenovelas such as Muchachitas, Dos mujeres, un camino; El premio mayor, María Isabel, and Amy, La niña de la mochila azul.

In 1996 Lorena debuted as a singer with her self-titled album of which the single "Soy" was highlighted. In 2015, she independently published the single "Masoquista," in which she dabbled in electronic dance music. That same year, "Flash," consecrated Lorena as one of the Mexican artists with the best visual productions. With this song, Herrera established herself as an icon for the LGBT community and began a series of presentations in the most important gay clubs in Mexico.

In 2016 she published the video for "Plastik," the third single released during a new stage of her musical career. That same year, the video "Karma" made its debut, where Lorena left behind the erotic style of previous clips to focus on other audiovisual elements such as costumes, staging and camera movements. All the money raised through digital platforms with this song was donated to children living in extreme poverty in Mexico.

The organizers of Vallarta Pride 2018 are thrilled by the participation of Lorena Herrera in the Pride Festival and are pleased to confirm that in the coming weeks they will be announcing the calendar of events that will be part of this year's LGBT celebration.

Last year, Vallarta Pride welcomed more than 17,000 visitors, which considerably increased the number of tourists who visited Puerto Vallarta during "the season."
