Murphy's Irish Pub Hosts Pre-St. Patrick's Day Benefits

February 26, 2019

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Jon Murphy, of Murphy's Irish Pub, is hosting two St. Patrick's Day warm-up events to help raise money for Puerto Vallarta charitable causes.

The first one, 'Vallarta Celtfest,' is a celebration of Celtic traditional music, dance, food, drink, and culture, that's set to be held on Sunday, March 10th from 4:00 to 10:00 pm at Parque Lazaro Cardenas in Old Town. Entrance is free, but voluntary chartable donations will be accepted.

Now in its third year, Vallarta Celtfest is a collaboration between Murphy's Irish Pub and the Jay Sadler Project to promote awareness and appreciation of Celtic Heritage, while raising money for the Jay Sadler Project, whose Community Relations (COMREL) program provides necessary resources to improve various charities and non-profit institutions in the Banderas Bay area.

The first two editions of Vallarta Celtfest were held on the Malecón in front of Murphy's Irish Pub, but, due to the event's popularity, the decision was made to move the venue to Lazaro Cardenas Park, where larger crowds could be accommodated.

Come enjoy Corned Beef & Cabbage and Craft beers by event sponsors Los Mercados, El Terrible Brewing and Los Muertos Brewing, along with a top-notch lineup of live entertainment that includes performances by The Guadalajara Trio (Irish Dancer with Fiddle and Uillean Pipes), Puerto Vallarta favorite La Trez Cuartoz, Dave Whitty from St. Johns Newfoundland, and Elk Run & Riot from Albert Canada.

The second event is Murphy's traditional Pre-St. Patrick's Charity Event to benefit the Jay Sadler Project. Set to be held on Wednesday, March 13th at Murphy's Irish Pub, this event offers your choice of Corned Beef and Cabbage, Guinness Beef Stew over Mashed Potatoes, or Fish N Chips; 1 premium drink (Guinness, Craft Beer, Wine, Bailey's, Jameson, or Irish Coffee); Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Baileys salsa for dessert, and live music performed by Dave Whitty from St. Johns, Newfoundland, for just $250 pesos.

Two seatings available: from 12 Noon to 3:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 322-113-0373.

For more information contact Dennis Rike of the Jay Sadler Project at dennis2rike(at)hotmail.com or 322-138-8891.

Murphy's Irish Pub is located on the Malecón at Morelos 484 in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
